Project Context

European agricultural landscapes need to restore biodiversity while remaining productive and economically viable. The Fireflies consortium focuses on agricultural landscapes and supports implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation (NRR).

Approach

QUYFIN works with farmers and local partners to establish biodiversity baselines and monitor plants, pollinating insects and landscape conditions. Standardised field surveys and locally adapted indicators are used to follow ecological change and evaluate restoration actions.

Outcome

Ongoing. The project is building biodiversity baseline data and indicators together with evidence on how restoration practices affect agricultural ecosystems. The results are intended to support farmers, research and future restoration monitoring.
